Mr. Leong Choong Peng

It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound sorrow that the Association of Quantity Surveyors Thailand (AQST) announces the passing of our Founder, Mr. Leong Choong Peng — an extraordinary leader, revered mentor, and a true pillar of the Quantity Surveying profession.

Mr. Leong was far more than the Founder of AQST; he was its guiding light, its architect of vision, and the enduring foundation upon which our Association proudly stands. Through his remarkable foresight, steadfast dedication, and uncompromising commitment to professional excellence, he transformed an aspiration into an institution of distinction. Under his leadership, AQST grew into a respected and influential professional body, elevating the stature and recognition of Quantity Surveyors throughout Thailand and across the international arena.

His distinguished career extended well beyond national boundaries. Mr. Leong served with exceptional honor on the global stage, holding esteemed leadership roles within both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS). The trust placed in him by these prestigious institutions reflected the profound respect he commanded worldwide. His contributions strengthened professional standards, fostered international collaboration, and advanced the global standing of the Quantity Surveying profession.

Yet, his greatest legacy lies not only in titles held or milestones achieved, but in the values he instilled. He nurtured a culture defined by integrity, professionalism, discipline, and lifelong learning. He inspired generations of practitioners to uphold the highest ethical standards and to pursue excellence with humility and purpose. The principles he championed continue to shape our Association and will endure as guiding beacons for years to come.

Through his wisdom and leadership, AQST became more than an organization — it became a community united by shared purpose, mutual respect, and a commitment to advancing the profession with dignity. His vision created opportunities, his guidance built confidence, and his presence inspired unity.

On behalf of the Council and all Members of the Association of Quantity Surveyors Thailand, we extend our deepest gratitude for his immeasurable contributions and his lifelong devotion to the profession. While we grieve the loss of a remarkable leader, we also celebrate a life of extraordinary impact and reaffirm our solemn commitment to uphold the vision and principles he so passionately established.

Mr. Leong Choong Peng’s name, legacy, and spirit will forever remain woven into the fabric of AQST and the history of Quantity Surveying.
